View the fossils from Irvington and Warm Springs District that provide clues for a changing landscape in the East Bay. WALK THROUGH TIME Featuring the Miller Stardome and "Walk through Time" Exhibit which shows how the Earth evolved from 4.5 billion years ago to the present. Microfossils on display (radiolarians, foraminifers, and diatoms) gives you a sense of how life on this planet evolved. NATURE HALL Including 100 year old specimens from the original DeYoung museum in San Francisco, collection of Otto Graff (Irvington High School teacher in the 1950's - 80's). The Shell Room helps to show the "Present is Key to the Past." Bone collections show how we can recognize different type of vertebrates. Includes a special "Dinosaur Room" for the little ones. MINERAL AND ROCK HALL A collection that illustrate how minerals are grouped by their chemical composition. The rocks show the major sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous rocks found in California.
